UNITE HERE Local 24 is the Metro Detroit, Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus area affiliate of the AFL-CIO (a strong national organization.) We feed the hungry, serve the thirsty and greet tired travelers. We work at the airport, in arenas, casinos, clubs, convention centers, food service, hotels, and stadiums. For decades, we have led the fight to win fair wages, solid benefits, and safe, dignified working conditions for hospitality workers. Our Union has a proud tradition of being on the front lines fighting for social change and economic justice.
We were created in 2004, when UNITE (a combination of garment industry unions) merged with HERE (the Hotel Employees & Restaurant Employees International Union.)
Today, we are over 270,000 active-members-strong, fighting for good, sustainable jobs, affordable healthcare and excellent benefits for working people and our families.
We are passionate & dedicated, aggressive & tenacious, positive & energetic, hardworking & helpful. We care about our members and make time for them – to listen, understand their struggles and fight for them when they need help.
